Just a thought

A couple of days ago.. we were over at a friends place for her husbands 33rd birthday party.... This friend of mine is very close to me..... We have known each other through college and then later after marriage have again gotten in touch and our husbands get along like a house on fire and our kids are more like brothers.....however.. her lil daughter is my to be daughter-in-law....lol...
This friend has two kids... one is a two year old... the brat....and the second one a three month old lil cutie pie girl...the Bean....
Now Joy is almost 9 months old.... and he has a blast whenever he and the Brat get together.......
Getting back to what I wanted to write about....
At the party while we were sitting and chatting... my friend mentioned how our kids are almost the same age....( there was another couple over and their baby..Vidipta... is 6 days younger than Joy....).....The Brat is a lil older ....but Joy, Vidipta and The Bean are almost the same age...
My friend mentioned casually that we were lucky that atleast our kids and her second one were almost the same age....it made me think back....
Before Joy....The husband and I were pregnant once....we lost the baby.....the baby would have been exactly the same age as the Brat.....
We were four women all expecting at the same time... one friend had her baby in April and the other two had theirs in May......I didn't.... But I was there through the delivery of one of the babies...it was one of the most difficult moments of my life....
The other night ... I sat thinking.. looking at Joy and wondering.... he may have had an older brother or sister as well....
What would he or she been like....? I see the Brat play with his lil sister.... protect her..pat her to sleep....share his toys with her..... and my heart melts.....
I look down at Joy and imagine....someone doing that for him..... my eyes are all watery.....
I spoke about this with the husband....he looked at me and didn't say anything......just nodded....and then pointed at Joy doing some dushtumi.... it made us both smile... changing the mood immediately....
We sometimes think of having a second one.... a lil bonti or bhai for Joy.... actualy we are definitely going to try to have one... that decision is made....
P.s. (These thoughts..however....come to mind only when Joy is behaving himself... and being adorable .. or sleeping peaceful..... and they completely disappear when he drives us around the bend....or just refuses to co-operate)

That was a very touching post Tina. And yes, it is indeed beautiful to watch sibling love take shape and grow.

Here's wishing you all the very best that life has to offer.

Good luck

Making a decision about a second kid is a tough one. I guess this time around you really know what you are getting into ( unlike the first time, where its all heresay, and other people's experiences). My Sis in law is agonizing over it now.. mostly the fact that her daughter shoudl have a sibling to share with makes her think about a second one.

Good luck with the decision and the pic of the week is really cute. I see you are playing around with the templates...this is also nice!
